Andrew Kuhn Obituary

Andrew Joseph "Bill" Kuhn Jr., 97, passed away on Sunday, April 10, 2022 at Golden Crest Assisted Living. Born August 11, 1924 in Baltimore, he was the son of the late Andrew Joseph Kuhn Sr. and Katherine Yingling Kuhn. He was the loving husband for 57 years to the late Hilda Rickell Kuhn. He was a lifelong member of St John Catholic Church and graduated from St John's High School. Bill proudly served in the U.S. Army during WWII as an Army Engineer, and served in the European Theatre until VE Day. Upon returning home he attended Technical school and became a bricklayer. He took great pride in the numerous buildings that he helped construct. In 1946 he married the love of his life, Hilda Rickell. Together they raised five children and were happily married until Hilda's death in 2004. In the sixteen years since Hilda's death, Bill would be seen walking his beloved dogs, Zeke and Natalie all over town. He also enjoyed exercising and socializing at the Westminster Rec Center. Throughout his life, Bill enjoyed gardening. He took great joy in his roses. He loved to hunt and fish, especially ice fishing in upstate New York. He was a fan of the Baltimore Orioles, Ravens and Baltimore Colts. He was a great fan of the Little League World Series and his grandchildren's various sports. For the last eighteen months, Bill had been at Golden Crest Westminster where he considered the staff his second family. Bill's family sends their love and thanks to the staff. Surviving him are sons Bernard Kuhn and wife Jan of Ruskin, Florida, Tom Kuhn of Palm Springs, California, daughters Jo Ann Wrightson and husband Wayne of Westminster and Karen Loats and husband Peter of Westminster; daughter-in-law Renee Kuhn; eight grandchildren; one step-grandchild; and eight great-grandchildren. In addition to his wife and parents he was predeceased by son William "Billy" Kuhn and son-in-law Richard Dickensheets.
