Annie O. Green

Annie Oland Green, age 98, of Union Bridge, passed away peacefully at her home on Sunday, November 16, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. Born on February 12, 1927, in Montgomery County, she was the daughter of the late Charles Edward Oland and Ethel Rebecca Holt Oland. She was the devoted wife of the late Earl McKinley Green, Sr., who preceded her in death in 2007. Had he still been living, they would have celebrated 79 years of marriage the day of her passing. Mrs. Green is survived by her children, Earl M. "Jimmy" Green, Jr. and wife Sharon of Taneytown, and E. Rebecca Zettlemoyer and Charles E. Green and wife Linda, all of Union Bridge. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Fred E. Green, Jr. (Lori), Robbie Green (Katie), Ricky Green (Brandy), Lara Huzzard (David), and Cody Green (Kristen); and her great-grandchildren, Troy, Libby, Josh, Jacob, Bennett, Roland, Windsor, Dallas, Lucas, Abby, Dutton, and Barlee. She leaves behind her sister, S. Jean Stuart, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her siblings, Charlotte Gilliam and Thomas, Edwin and Glenn Oland. Annie was a graduate of Frederick High School. In her early years, she worked as a bookkeeper for Capello's Food Market in Frederick. She and her husband later farmed in Buckeystown before moving to Kilfadda Farm in Union Bridge, where they made their home for the remainder of their lives. A soft-spoken and gentle woman, Annie was known for her steady work ethic and her deep devotion to her family. She helped with chores related to milking dairy cows, tended her garden, raised chickens, prepared meals with care, and cherished the simple joys of home and family life. She also enjoyed crocheting and took great pride in being both a mother and grandmother. A visitation will be held on Thursday, Nov. 20 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Hartzler Funeral Home, 6 E. Broadway, Union Bridge. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Friday, Nov. 21 at 11 a.m. Interment will follow in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Frederick.
