Betty Munshaur Obituary

Betty Lee Munshaur, 94, of New Windsor, died peacefully on November 7, 2025, after an extended illness. Born July 30, 1931, in Patapsco, Betty was the daughter of the late Emil Almont Caple and Emma LaRue (Shamer) Caple. She was married to Kenneth Munshaur for 74 years. Betty was a graduate of Westminster High School, class of 1948. She worked as a secretary for Westminster Nurseries and after retirement she worked various other jobs. She enjoyed gardening, music, and loved animals, especially her dogs Buddy and Daisey. She was a member of St. Luke's (Winters) Lutheran Church, where she taught Sunday School and was church historian. Surviving, in addition to her husband, are son Marcell Munshaur and wife Gail; granddaughter Holly Talbert Warner and husband Andy, along with great grandsons Drew and Brooks Warner; sister, Sonya Tracey and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by sisters, Eleanor Barnes, Anna May Weber, Rose Marie Von Gunten, June Green, Shirley Dawson and brother, Larry Caple. The family will receive friends at Hartzler Funeral Home, 310 Church St., New Windsor, on Wednesday, November 12 from 1-3 and 6-8 p.m. The funeral service will be held at St. Luke's (Winters) Church, 701 Green Valley Road, New Windsor, on Thursday, November 13 at 11:00 a.m. with visitation one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in St. Luke's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Luke's (Winters) Church, P.O. Box 447, New Windsor, MD 21776, The Humane Society of Carroll County, 2517 Littlestown Pike, Westminster, MD 21158 or to Bridging Life Development Office (Hospice), 200 Memorial Ave., Westminster, MD 21157.
