C. Walter Haschert Jr.

C. Walter Haschert, Jr., 100, of Westminster passed away on Sunday, November 27, 2022, at Bridging Life – Dove House. Born in Baltimore on May 12, 1922, Walt was the son of the late C. Walter and Florence Seipp Haschert. He was the loving husband of the late Frieda Overman Haschert who predeceased him in 2016. Walt joined the Army and earned five Battle Stars during WW II whereupon he was honorably discharged in October 1945. He retired from C & P Telephone (now Verizon) in 1982 after 41 years of service. He was active in civic, charitable, and political affairs but his main interest was always his family. Predeceased by his son David C. Haschert, Walt is survived by his son, Robert C. Haschert and wife Edith of Westminster; daughter Joyce H. Blank and husband Thomas of Arlington, VA; son Donald C. Haschert and wife Mary Anne of Harrisburg, PA; and daughter-in-law Dorothy J. Haschert of Littlestown, PA. He is also survived by seven grandchildren and their spouses, five step-grandchildren and their spouses, fourteen great-grandchildren and seven step-great-grandchildren, five great-great-grandchildren, eight step-great-great-grandchildren and six nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, wife and son, Walt was predeceased by brother, George A. Haschert of Annapolis and a sister, Ruth Roulette of Tilghman Island.
