He was stationed out of Fort Hamilton, New York and was deployed on several overseas assignments throughout Europe. He earned multiple badges of recognition for his excellence in marksmanship. Butch worked the majority of his career at Ridge Engineering, Inc. in
Hampstead, Maryland as a machinist until his retirement. Butch was a long-time member of the American Legion. He served as a past president of the United Coon Hunters association in
Hampstead, Maryland. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting, crabbing and fishing. His hobbies included duck carving and spoiling his great grandchildren. He was a bird enthusiast (particularly hummingbirds) and was not often seen without his sidekick and canine companion, Louie. He would often make the time to "pop in" and check on those he loved, including regular visits to the local nursing home. You'd never know when he would roll up, visit awhile and be off to the next stop. Butch requested there be no viewing; however, the family is planning a Celebration of Life in the near future. In lieu of flowers please consider donations to
Wounded Warriors Project (online) or The American Legion Post 200, 4600 Legion Lane, Hampstead MD 21074. Arrangements are entrusted to ELINE FUNERAL HOME, Hampstead.
