Charles Lloyd Pickett

Charles "Charlie" Lloyd Pickett, 87 passed away on Tuesday, November 4, 2025, at home. He was born on August 1, 1938, in Baltimore, MD to the late Raynard Lloyd Pickett and Mary Estelle Tucker Pickett. He was the loving husband of Dorothy Mae Ely Pickett, his wife of 69 years. Charlie was a graduate of Sykesville High School class of 1956. He retired from Westinghouse Corporation where had been a welder for many years. He then worked for R. M. Schmidt, Inc., HVAC. He was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church, Sykesville. Charlie's interests included hunting, fishing, bingo, jigsaw puzzles, and scratch off tickets. In addition to his wife, Charlie is survived by his daughter, Diane L. Klein (Ross) of Catonsville and sons Charles L. Pickett, Jr. (Lisa) of New Jersey and Craig A. Pickett of Finksburg, and nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Charlie was predeceased by his sister, Dorothy Lee Turfle and her husband, Robert "Bud" Turfle and daughter-in-law, Lori Pickett (Craig). The family will receive friends from 2 to 5 PM on Sunday, November 9, 2025, at Haight Funeral Home & Chapel, 6416 Sykesville Road, Sykesville where a funeral service will be held at 10 AM on Monday, November 10, 2025. Interment will follow in Taylorsville UMC Cemetery, Taylorsville. Those desiring may make memorial donations to American Heart Association or Sykesville Volunteer Fire Department.
