Charles Thomas Obituary



Charles T. Thomas, Jr., age 92, of Westminster, Maryland, died peacefully on Monday, March 9, 2015 at University of Maryland Hospital in Baltimore. Born May 10, 1922 in Switchback, West Virginia, he was the son of the late Charles T. Sr. and Helen G. (Compton) Thomas. He was predeceased by his wife, Betty Jane (Ogle) Thomas in 2004. He was a carpenter and home builder for many years. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during W.W.II. He loved collecting model trains, working on puzzles, and attending garage sales. Surviving are brother, Robert Leroy Thomas of Eldersburg; sister, Mary Louise Wright of Abbottstown, PA; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. He was predeceased by siblings, Herman, James, Orville, Hazel, and Maxine Thomas, and Linda Tingler. The family will receive friends on Thursday, March 12, 2015 from 1 p.m. until the time of a Funeral Service at 2 p.m. at the Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home, 91 Willis St, Westminster, MD, with funeral celebrant John C. Morrill officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Memorial Gardens in Finksburg. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Legion Post #31, 2 Sycamore St., Westminster, MD 21157. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the family at www.myersdurborawfh.com.
