Charlotte Marie Rothenberger Hoffman

Charlotte Marie Rothenberger Hoffman, 81, of Westminster passed away peacefully in the presence of her family on Monday, January 18, 2016 at Atlantic General Hospital. She was born on January 1, 1935 in Hanover, PA, and was the daughter of the late David Leo and Maryanna Beaver Rothenberger. She was the loving wife of Robert A. "Bob" Hoffman her husband of 60 years. Charlotte was a graduate of St. John High School class of 1952. After high school she worked as a telephone operator for C&P for several years and after raising her children, she worked in the family business, Hoffman's Ice Cream. She was a lifetime member of St. John Catholic Church. Charlotte enjoyed traveling, especially to Disney World with her family. She liked to gamble at the slot machines and spend time working on her flower beds. Her greatest enjoyment was being with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Surviving in addition to her husband are children and spouses Jeffrey and Jane Hoffman of Finksburg, Linda and Michael Crabbs of Westminster, and Lori and Buzzy Shamer of Finksburg; brother and sister-in-law Charles and Carol Rothenberger of Westminster; grandchildren Jennifer Middleton and husband Frank, Christine Kolbe, Ashley Vernatter and husband Sam, Jessica Hoffman, Rebecca Hoffman, 2 step grandsons; great-grandchildren Logan, Kallen, Keira, and James. The family will receive friends on Sunday, January 24, 2016 from 4 to 9 pm at Pritts Funeral Home and Chapel, 412 Washington Rd., Westminster. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, January 25, 2016 at 11:00 am at St. John Catholic Church, Westminster. Interment will be in Evergreen Memorial Gardens, Finksburg. Memorial contributions may be made in her name to St. John Catholic Church, 43 Monroe Ave., Westminster MD 21157.
