David "Dave" Alan Brengle, 74, of Westminster, Maryland, passed away on Tuesday, July 5th, 2022 at Carroll Hospital. Born July 1st, 1948 in Northville, Michigan he was the son of the late Rolland Mansfield Brengle and Norma Jean (Reichard) Stone. He was the husband of Marcia "Marcy" Brown Brengle. Dave graduated from South Lyon High School in 1966 and earned a Bachelor's of Science from Michigan State University in 1970. He was drafted and honorably served in the U.S. Army in Vietnam where he was twice decorated. Dave returned to the States in 1972, earned a Masters of Arts degree in Education Administration from Eastern Michigan University in 1974, and taught middle school in Grayling, Michigan. In 1980 he moved his family to Inverness, Florida where he worked as a self-employed private contractor for ten years. In 1990 he relocated to the Westminster, Maryland area where he worked as a private contractor, supported the Maryland Forest Service, managed a retail golf supply store, and finally retired. He was an active volunteer, former commander, and lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 467. He was most at peace when he spent time with family and friends outdoors fishing, golfing, hunting, and even on simple walks in the woods. He will be sorely missed by all who knew him. Surviving are his wife, Marcy Brengle of Westminster; son John Brengle and wife Kristin of Westminster; son Ryan Brengle and wife Carrie of Murrells Inlet, South Carolina; son Kristopher Taylor and wife Ashley of New Windsor, Maryland; daughter Casey Barrick and fiancé Zach Frieze of Westminster; grandchildren, Logan Brengle, Rolland Brengle, Brandon Brengle, Kim Brengle, Christopher Brengle, Mason Taylor, Evelyn Taylor, Holden Taylor, and Dylan Frieze; brother James Brengle and wife Deborah of Venice, Florida; sister Karen Brengle Givens and husband Larry of Livonia, Michigan; brother-in-law Jeffrey Brown of Manchester, Maryland; sister-in-law Rebecca Brown Danneman and husband Donald of Littlestown, Pennsylvania; sister-in-law Sheila Brown Fletcher and husband Tony of Westminster, sister-in-law Renee Brown Born and husband Scott of Westminster; and many more aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews. The family will receive friends on Sunday, July 24, 2022 from 2:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the VFW Post #467, 519 Poole Road, Westminster. A Celebration of Life will begin at 2:00 p.m. followed by military honors. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the VFW Post #467.
