She taught private piano lessons for many years and served as PTA president, a Girl Scout Leader, as well as a substitute teacher at Sandymount Elementary School in the 1950s. She hosted a series of weekly Bible studies in her home spanning several decades, previous to her move to Emeritus Assisted Living in Westminster in 1999. Her more recent artwork, consisting of pen and ink drawings, continues to be published monthly on the cover of the Emeritus Newsletter. She was very religious, and enjoyed her family, sharing her faith, and the Eastern Shore.

My deepest sympathies to the Armacost family. I was a friend and a classmate of Shelley's at Sandymount Elementary School a long time ago.

I have many fond memories of Mrs. Armacost at Mt. Zion church. I was in the children's choir and she and Mr. Armacost were friends of my parents. She was a very sweet and kind lady.
