Erma Vane

Erma M. Vane, 89, of Hampstead, MD passed away on October 25, 2023 at Golden Crest Assisted Living, Westminster, MD. Born December 7, 1933 in Baltimore, MD, she was the daughter of the late Roland and Evelyn (Sheets) Morris. Erma was preceded in death by her husband, Richard F. Vane. After graduating from Western High School, Erma spent most of her time raising her five children. She enjoyed baking for her family and would make many different kinds of cookies during the holidays. She also enjoyed playing cards and other games when spending time with friends. When the grandchildren and great-grandchildren arrived for a visit she loved being entertained by them. Erma is survived by her sons; Richard Vane, Jr., Stephen Vane and wife Sarah Vane, Jeffrey Vane and Kelly (Masterson)Vane, Robert Vane and Jamie (Jacobs) Vane; daughter, Catherine Vane and Bill Cherneski; 16 grandchildren, 5 step grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Betty Cross and Elaine Knight; and two brothers, Harvey Morris and Leslie Morris. Friends and family are invited to gather at the Eline Funeral Home, 934 S. Main Street, Hampstead, MD on December 2, 2023 from 10am to 11am. A memorial service will begin at 11am with a catered reception to follow.
