Francis J. "Frank" Kushner

Francis Joseph "Frank" Kushner, 75, of Westminster, died Monday, Oct. 5, 2009, at Carroll Hospice's Dove House. He was born May 19, 1934 in Philadelphia. He was the husband of Alice Klinger Kushner, his wife of 45 years. He graduated from Towson State University with both Bachelor of Science and Master of Arts degrees. He served in the Air Force from 1954 to 1961. His career was in the computer science field, beginning with punch-card programming in the 1950s to the present-day computers. His interests included fishing, scuba diving, sports, reading, gourmet cooking, gardening, travel and adventure. Surviving, in addition to his wife, are a daughter, Emily K. Halac, of San Diego; and son Ethan E. Kushner and his fiancée Hillary Hess, of Taos, N.M. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at Westminster United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall, 162 E. Main St., Westminster, where a service of remembrance will be held at 2:30 p.m. with the Rev. Dr. Laura Easto officiating.
