Gary Wayne Beard

Gary Wayne Beard, 73, of Westminster graduated to heaven, Wednesday, June 2, 2021, at his home. Born January 22, 1948, in Martinsburg, West Virginia, he was the son of the late Lester and Wanda Beard, nee Roger; and he was the loving husband of Darlene Carpenter Beard. He had an illustrious teaching career which spanned 50 years in four Christian schools. He was dedicated to his family and his ministry and touched many lives. He was a long-time member of the Church of the Open Door. Surviving in addition to his wife, are his daughters Cheryl Milholland and her husband Edward, and Jodi Martin and her husband Matthew; and his five grandchildren Kaylee Strickland, Nataly, Tyler, Adyson, and Hayden Martin. He was preceded in death by his brother, Roger Beard. The family will receive friends 4- 6 p.m., Monday, June 7, 2021, at the Church of the Open Door, 550 Baltimore Boulevard, Westminster, 21157 with a Celebration of Life Service at 6 p.m. A memorial dinner will be held immediately following the Celebration of Life in the Baker Auditorium.
