Gary Edwin Hanssen

Gary Edwin Hanssen, 70, of Manchester, MD, passed away on Saturday, November 15, 2025, at Carroll Hospital Center in Westminster, MD. Born on February 6, 1955, in Baltimore, MD, he was the son of the late Edwin Kelso Hanssen and Alice Catherine Bishop Hanssen. Gary worked in the sanitizing department at McCormick's. He loved history, especially about WWII and Gettysburg. Surviving him is a daughter: Hannah Hanssen of Manchester, MD, and siblings: Joyce Yankovich and husband Charles of Cockeysville, MD, and Douglas Hanssen and wife Teresa of Sykesville, MD. Gary was predeceased by his sister: Jacqueline Ranken. The family will receive visitors on Thursday, November 20, from 5-8 pm, at the ECKHARDT FUNERAL CHAPEL, P.A., 3296 Charmil Drive, Manchester, MD, where a funeral service will be held at 7 pm.
