FENSTER, Goldye (nee Cohen)
On Friday, November 28, 2014, in her ninety- fifth year. Beloved wife of the late Jack. Loving mother and mother-in-law of Nonnie (Anne Nora) and Harvey Shaffer, Dr. Mark and Frima Fenster, and the late Susan Fenster Leader. Cherished grandmother of Stephanie and Andrew Blum, Ian and Hayley Shaffer, Michelle and Joel Sisk, Jeffrey and Brittney Fenster. Proud great-grandmother of Emerson, Gwyneth, Erin, Sabrina, Shirya, Tamar, Olivia and Mya. Predeceased by her dear siblings, Lil Turner, Lou Cohen, William Cohen (the late Rita). Survived by her sister- in-law, Estelle Cohen. Predeceased by Jack's siblings and their spouses, Carrye and Charles Kandestin, Helene and Saul Witchell, Fanny and Hyman Garber, Gertrude and Louis Shain, Estelle and Myer Gameroff, Joseph and Edna Fenster, Seymour and Coral Fenster, Dorothy and Saul Kugler, and Moishe Fenster. The family would like to thank the staff of the Kastner Pavilion at the Jewish Eldercare Centre for their care and compassion. Special thanks to Burnette Hoyte for her exceptional relationship she shares with our family and for the incredible devotion she showed to our mother. Funeral service from Paperman & Sons, 3888 Jean Talon St. W., on Tuesday, December 2 at 2:00 p.m. Burial at the Chevra Kadisha B'nai Jacob Congregation Section, Back River Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Berri St. Shiva at her daughter's home, from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. daily. Contributions in her memory may be made to the "Goldye Fenster Memorial Fund for Kastner Pavilion" c/o the Jewish Hospital of Hope Eldercare Foundation, (514) 738-4500 ext.: 2124.

About 50 years ago, as a secretary at Demag, Goldye was an inspiration to me as a young salesman. For this, she will always be in my memories. May you rest in peace. My condolences to the family.
