Jack Cimino Obituary

Jack C. Cimino, Jr., a beloved long time member of the Sykesville community, passed away on June 4, 2023 at the age of 52. He was born May 13, 1971, in Overlea, MD, the son of Linda Cimino Smith (nee Bark) & the late Robert T. Smith and Donna Cimino & the late Jack C. Cimino, Sr. Jack had a passion for helping others, working in the emergency response and health care field, most recently as a phlebotomist for the past 27 years. Jack took such pride in his expertise skills and all his patients loved him. He was a lifelong member of the Sykesville Volunteer Fire Department, joining as a Jr. Volunteer in his early teens. Jack enjoyed being outdoors, particularly hunting and fishing. His most treasured trips were those he spent with his closest friends, daughters, and other family members. Jack also had a deep interest in local history, collecting unique artifacts, many of which he found through metal-detecting. When not in the woods, you could find him attending the sporting events of his daughters, and later, his nieces and nephews. At home, he'd cheer on, or lament the bum plays, of the Dallas Cowboys, Duke Basketball, Georgia Football, and the New York Yankees, while simultaneously listening to the scanner in the background. Jack is survived by his mothers, Linda & Donna; his beloved daughters, McKenzie and Morgan Cimino; the brother of Amy Bell (Smith), Alison Smith, David Cimino, Cindy Boyce, and Robert Boyce; grandfather of Elliana; and former spouse Carie Cimino. Also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends he considered family. He was preceded in death by his sister Tammy Humphreys. A Celebration of Life service will be on Saturday, July 8, 2023 at 1:00 PM at Sykesville Freedom District Fire Department 6680 Sykesville Road Sykesville, Maryland 21784. If planning to attend, please let one of Jack's family members know. In lieu of flowers, Jack would want to help others with memorial contributions made to Sykesville Volunteer Fire Department PO Box 275 Sykesville Maryland 21784. Knew Jack since 1987 when we worked at Captains Quarters in Sykesville. Became friends through that time.

Crossed paths years later during bloodwork in Eldersburg.

Still talked as if we hadn't missed a day. Tbh, each time I've gone past the medical building there, I would wonder what he was up to lately.

Never had a bad thing to say on anyone.

Condolences to all impacted.

I worked with Jack he was such a kind hearted soul. He called me Mom even though we were seven years apart. Jack would give you the shirt off his back if you needed it. Lots of fun and laughter he gave us in the lab at CHC. We talked about him finding land and moving so he could hunt with his daughters. He really loved those girls. RIP my friend

I will always remember Jack as a kind and friendly neighbor who always took the time to stop and say hi, and have a friendly chat. He was a great guy who was always willing to help a neighbor. He will be missed.
My deepest condolences to his family and friends.
