Joan Fehle Obituary

Joan E. Fehle, 85, of New Windsor, died on Wednesday, April 14th at her home, surrounded by her loving family. Born on November 20, 1935 in Baltimore, MD, she was the daughter of the late Charles Bruns & Mary Schultz Bruns. She was the wife of the late George Lewis Leatherwood & the late Robert G. Fehle, Sr. She was a 50-year parishioner of St. John Catholic Church in Westminster, MD, where she was a beloved member of the adult choir. She was known for her beautiful soprano voice, performing in numerous September Song productions & singing annually at the Westminster Memorial Day parade & ceremony. She was an avid Scrabble player, enjoyed baking, knitting, and crocheting, but above all her favorite pastime was time she spent with family. She retired from Carroll County General Hospital where she worked in the information technology department as a data processing clerk. Surviving are daughter-in-law Domnique Prencipe of Hampstead, MD; children Marianne Leatherwood of New Windsor, MD; Elizabeth (Betty) Bolm and husband, C. Joseph of Hampstead, MD; Michael Fehle & wife, Stacy of New Windsor; Richard Fehle & wife, Jennifer of Waynesboro, PA; grandchildren Sandy Bolm Pucsek & husband, Blake of Victoria, Canada; Laura Bradley & husband, Taylor of Sykesville, MD; Sarah Fehle of Westminster, MD; Bo Fehle & wife, Lizzy of Tiffin, OH; Holly Swope & husband, Blayze of Waynesboro, PA; Joseph Fehle of Mt. Airy, MD; Timothy, Erin, & William Fehle of New Windsor, MD; and great-grandchildren Levi Fehle, Leah & Lincoln Bradley, Torin Pucsek, and Daxton Swope. Also surviving are many beloved nieces and nephews. In addition to her husbands, Joan was predeceased by her son, Robert G. Fehle, Jr., grandson C.J. Bolm, and 5 siblings. The family will receive friends and family for visitation Monday, April 19th from 2:00pm to 4:00pm and 7:00 to 9:00pm at Eline Funeral Home at 934 S. Main St. in Hampstead, MD. A Mass of Christian burial will take place on Tuesday, April 20th at 12:00pm at St. John Catholic Church, 43 Monroe St, Westminster, MD. Interment will follow at 1:30 PM at Evergreen Memorial Gardens at 2800 Old Westminster Pike in Finksburg, MD. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Carroll Hospice at 292 Stoner Ave. in Westminster, MD.
