John E. Mansfield

John E. Mansfield 82, of Sykesville John E. Mansfield, 82, of Sykesville, died Friday, Aug. 7, 2009, at St. Joseph Hospital Center in Towson. Born June 21, 1927, in Hernwood, he was the son of the late Luther and Theresa Luers Mansfield. He was the husband of Clementine "Teeny" Dietrich Mansfield, his wife of 59 years. He had been a plumber for many years and retired from the Howard County Public Schools maintenance department. He enjoyed flowers, bird watching and sports. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his granddaughters. Surviving, in addition to his wife, are daughters and sons-in-law Sherry and Wayne Hirth, of Baltimore, Robin and Robert Lewis, of Westminster, and Bettie and John Modrak, of Hampstead; grandchildren Heather and husband Alex, of Oceanside, Calif., Jennifer Lewis, of Washington, D.C., and Alex and Emily, of Hampstead; and a sister, Bettie Jean Suess, of Alachua, Fla. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Haight Funeral Home & Chapel, 6416 Sykesville Road, Sykesville. Private interment will be in Lake View Memorial Park.
