With deep sorrow and love, we announce the passing of Lisa Owens, who went to her heavenly home on February 5, 2025, surrounded by her family. Lisa was a devoted daughter, sister, and aunt. Her life was defined by an immense love for her family and she cherished every moment spent with them.
Lisa had a heart that knew no bounds. She loved fiercely and protected those she cared about with an unwavering ferocity. Lisa took great joy in creating lasting memories with her family, particularly her “rental children” which is how she described her nieces. She knew she got to have the fun times and then give them back to their parents for things like rules or discipline. She loved her entire family without bounds, but no two were as special as her babies, Camryn and Chase. She assigned herself the job of being their La. She rocked them through the night, sat with them if they were sick, sent them dollars just because, told them how fabulous they were, and loved them unconditionally. Her family will not be the same without her, but they take solace in knowing that Lisa is made new in heaven with her Savior.
She was preceded in death by her father, James P Owens and her brother, Hal Owens. She is survived by her mother, Betty Owens, her sister in law, Marianne Owens, her nieces Leigh Ann (Dennis) Brown and Leslie (Tory) Jordan, her great niece, Camryn Brown and her great nephew, Chase Brown.
A graveside service for Lisa will be held on Sunday, February 9, 2025 at Panola Cemetery, beginning at 2:00 p.m. with Brother Stacey Gaston officiating and Dunklin Funeral Home directing.
The family would like to extend their immense gratitude to Tonya Jarman and the rest of the staff at Aveanna Hospice, and to Tammie, Malaysia, and Danaysia Smith and Rinita Boyd. Lisa was able to live out her wish to be home with her mother throughout her sickness because of the help of these women and the family is forever grateful.

I’m going to miss her so much, our conversations could last for hours, day or night. She was definitely one of a kind, a heart of gold.
She sure loved Camryn and Chase as well as her entire family.
As we always ended our phone calls,
I love you/I love you more
