Matthew Baird Obituary

Matthew Thomas Baird, 42, of Taneytown, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, March 4, 2025, at his home. Born November 17, 1982, in Westminster, he was the son of the late Charles Thomas and Dawn Marie (Marlatt) Baird. He was the loving husband of Mary Elizabeth (Turner) Baird, his wife of 15 years (together for 22 years). Matt was a graduate of Francis Scott Key High School, Class of 01. He spent most of his working career as a machinist for TAG Engineering Inc. In his spare time, Matt enjoyed working on tractors, the shooting range, antique Hit or Miss engines and gardening. His greatest joy came from his family, and he cherished the time spent with them, especially his boys and wife. He dedicated his life to the values of hard work, integrity, love for his family and will be deeply missed. Surviving in addition to his wife are his beloved sons Thomas Dell Baird and Adam Matthew Baird; brother Jeffrey C. Baird and companion Celeste Kwiatkowski of Taneytown; in laws Billy and Linda Turner of Cockeysville; brother-in-law Billy Turner, Jr and fiancé Emma Benson of Phoenix, MD; dedicated friends and neighbors The Tate Family; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and extended family members. The family will welcome friends on Sunday, March 9, 2025, from 2pm to 5pm at Pritts Funeral Home and Chapel, 412 Washington Road, Westminster, MD. A funeral service will be held on Monday, March 10, 2025, at 11am at the funeral home with Chaplain Charline Fowler and Dr. Jason Tate officiating. Interment will be private.
