I met Miia in cosmetology class at South Carroll High School. She was a sweet, kind girl who grew into a lovely sweet lady. I know she will be greatly missed, until she is reunited with her family in paradise. Sending thoughts and prayers to her family.

Whether kayaking, hanging by the pool, talking about her latest reads or eating crabs, or painfully well done steaks, Miia was always a joyful presence in our lives. She will be missed by our whole family. We were blessed to have known her and her beautiful family.

The Illiano Family I met through work and playing on the Green Turtle indoor soccer team at Carroll Indoor Sports Center. Miia was very welcoming to me at a Holiday Party hosted by the family. Their devotion to the community hosting restaurant nights to benefit charitable organizations and space for girl scouts to sell cookies are but two examples. I lift up the family in this difficult and heartbreaking time. The community is here for you and sharing in your grief today as you celebrate Miia. Her generous and giving spirit will be so missed.

Dear Illiano Family,
Although I didn´t know her personally I knew the other Illiano last family who ran Hampstead J& P for many years It was my husbands favorite place and we even had his mom´s after funeral there. Great family. So sorry for your loss. She was way to young to lose.

My family and I are devastated to hear of Miia´s passing, and we pray for peace, and comfort for the Illiano family. Our family, Heidi and Chester Maleski, were just across the way from the Illiano´s restaurant. Their business was known as Heidi´s Gift Shop, and they shared an almost daily contact with Frank and Miia while they were in business (2000). Miia, as everyone has said, had a warm and tender soul that shone through her eyes. Frank and Miia are and were the cornerstone of the Mt. Airy community. She was a loving person who will not only be missed by her family and friends, but also by the entire community. What a life well lived. May you be held in the arms of our Lord in peace.

I was devasted to hear about Miia, she was such a light. I remember her from our days working on the GCS auction back in the 2000's...she was so generously kind and sweet and thoughtful. She wore her heart on her sleeve and everyone was drawn to her. I remember when she opened up her little store, she was so proud that they had built the first building in Mt. Airy with an elevator. I've always wished that I'd kept in touch...but life marches on....it's just so hard to believe she's gone. I know she loved her family deeply and I cannot imagine how they must be suffering. My thoughts and prayers are with them.
