Paul Beaudin Obituary

Paul David Beaudin, 92, of Taneytown, formerly of Keene, NH, passed away on Thursday, November 11, 2021, at home surrounded by his family. Born on December 19, 1928, he was the son of the late Alberic Joseph Beaudin and Marie Eveline Helen (Aucoin) Beaudin. He was the beloved husband of the late Elizabeth Ann Beaudin, nee Savage. He received his Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Norwich University in 1951. Upon graduation, he went into the Army from 1951 to 1953. After his military service, he accepted a position as a Civil Engineer for Peter Kiewit and Sons, where he worked for 25 years. Some of the projects he was involved with included the building of the Fort McHenry Tunnel and the coal loading facility in Baltimore, as well as a graving dock in Sturgeon Bay, WI. In his spare time, Paul enjoyed woodworking, building things, being outdoors, tending to his tomato plants, exercising/walks, target shooting, reading, and always looked forward to spending time with his family. He was an active member of the Catholic Church, most recently, St. Joseph's in Taneytown. He was a wonderful cook and will always be remembered for his great sense of humor. Surviving Paul is his sister, Marcia Stratton of Hoboken, NJ; his four children, daughter Ann Beaudin and husband Myron Bradley of Taneytown, son Richard Beaudin of Westminster, son Briand Beaudin and wife Cynthia of Douglas, MA, and daughter Pauline Beaudin and wife Linda Nichol of Keene, NH; and his grandchildren, Grace and Paul Bradley, Jack and Nicole Beaudin, Patricia Beaudin, Madison and Sebastian Nicol-Beaudin, Elijah, Deeanna, and Cyrus Nicol. Paul was also preceded in death by his sister, Joanne Bedard. Funeral services will be announced at a later date. We all lost a really fine Norwich Man. He lived our NU values completely. He loved his Country, his family, his God and his University. Our thoughts are with his family. friends, and Norwich buddies. We have a huge hole to fill now as we close ranks. May he Rest in Peace. RADM Rich Schneider, Norwich President Emeritus

You don't know me. But I came to know your father quite well. We would see each other frequently when walking the pond. He was such an inspiration and joy to be around. And when we walkers at the pond noticed his absence we were very concerned. We would constantly ask of each other had anyone seen Paul lately. When I learned of his passing I was heartbroken. He always met me on the walking trail with a big grin and a funny comment or two. How he brightened so many days for so many of us! And that he was such a dedicated walker at such an advanced age - which he would always proudly share with us - was truly amazing. Our walks are not quite the same lately. But we feel so grateful to have had him in our lives.
