Rita Carolyn Garner, 87, of Westminster, passed away Friday, June 11, 2021, at BridgingLife at Northwest Hospital. Born August 1, 1933, in Washington D.C., she was the daughter of the late George E. and Mabel A. Hiskey McCormick. She was the loving wife of the late Ronald Robert Garner, Sr., who passed away in 1999. Rita was a parishioner of St. John Catholic Church in Westminster. She was a devoted homemaker and dedicated herself to raising her family. Rita enjoyed playing cards and bingo. Above all, she cherished the time spent with her family. She will be missed by all those who knew her. Surviving Rita are her sons Ronald Robert Garner, Jr., and wife Donna of Hanover, PA., and Kenneth Duane Garner of York, PA; grandchildren Patricia Ann Warnick and husband Kyle and Ronald Robert Garner, III., all of Hanover, PA; soon to be born great-granddaughter Claire Margaret Warnick; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by her sister Catherine Cole. The family will welcome friends on Tuesday, June 15, 2021, from 10:30 am to 11:00 am at St. John Catholic Church, 43 Monroe St., Westminster, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am. Interment will be held in Loudon Park Cemetery in Baltimore. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her name to a charity of your choice. Ron and Kenny and family, I am so sorry for your loss. Rita was like family to me and a sister to my mother before she passed (Jeanette). I am just learning of her passing. When she wasn´t answering her phone I searched online. Sorry to have missed her service. Blessings to you all.
