Ruby Lee Shipley

Ruby Lee Shipley, 97, of Sykesville, passed away on Sunday, November 23, 2025, at Transitions Health Care at Oakland Manor. She was born on July 23, 1928, in Maryland to the late Paul Herman Jogereit and Florence Mildred Barth Jogereit. She was the loving wife of the late George Albert Shipley. Ruby was a homemaker for most of her life raising her children the late Patricia Ann Bragg, Ronald Edward Shipley (Rebecca), Kenneth Lee Shipley (Norma) and Deborah Lynn Seivold (Al). She is survived by 8 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her sisters Betty Jane Buckingham and Anna Marie Hall. Ruby was a longtime member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church where she had served as a president of the United Methodist Women for several years. She had worked many years ago at the former Dixon's Flowers and for 16 years at the former London Fog in Eldersburg where she retired. Ruby always brought her family and friends together with her love for cooking and baking. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 PM on Friday, November 28, 2025, at Haight Funeral Home & Chapel, 6416 Sykesville Road, Sykesville, where a funeral service will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, November 29, 2025, with her pastors Rev. Mary Ka Kanahan and Rev. Christopher Guyer officiating . Interment will follow in Lake View Memorial Park.
