Scott Jorda Obituary

Scott Gali Jorda, lovingly known as Pops, passed away on November 3, 2025 at the age of 66. A devoted son, brother, husband, father, uncle, grandfather and friend, Pops lived for his family and worked tirelessly and selflessly for them. Scott was born on October 17, 1959 in Baltimore, MD to Digna Gomez Jorda and the late Antonio Maria Jorda. He graduated from Woodlawn High School in 1977. For more than 40 years, he carried on the passion for engineering and manufacturing – If he could dream it, it could be built. As a pilot, he had a unique ability to see the world from a different perspective. But his love for flying never overshadowed his love for family, which was his greatest joy. He was a loving husband of 27 years to Valerie Jorda and proud father to Kristina Smith (JP), Trisha Aponte (Noel), Leah Beam (Eric) and Stephen Jorda (Michelle). He cherished his 14 grandchildren Shane, Levi, Marissa, Kennady, Asher, Jamie, Savannah, Jackson, Brody, Tony, Antonio, Lydia, Angelo and Matteo. Pops enjoyed spending the day at the go kart track, dancing to 80s music, spinning tunes as DJ Fascination, hosting a family pig roast, giant Christmas trees and capturing life's moments through his passion for photography. Most of all, he lived life to the fullest. Scott is also survived by brother Jose Jorda and sister Lynn Selby (Mike) and nieces Elisa Wells (Ethan) and Cassie Selby. The family thanks all who have offered love and support during this time. He has left a lasting legacy of love, laughter, and a life well-lived. Viewing services will be held at Fletcher Funeral & Cremation Service, 254 E Main St. Westminster, MD 21157 on Thursday November 6, 2025 from 3pm to 5pm with second viewing from 7pm to 9pm. During the viewing, we invite anyone who wishes to share a memory or a few words about Scott to do so beginning at 4pm and 8pm. A graveside service will be held on Friday, November 7, 2025 at St Johns Evangelical Lutheran Church on 827 Leisters Church Road, Westminster MD 21157 beginning at 2pm. Its not often I hear of someone that I've only met a few times passing and feel the hurt I do now. Scott was genuinely one of the nicest people I've ever met. I had the pleasure to work with him over the past couple years a few times in Virginia, and a few times at his shop in Maryland. I brought my family to work one week and he INSISTED that my whole family was coming to lunch and he was buying. He shows up to work the next day with donuts for my kids. Just a genuinely nice guy! Im sorry to hear of his passing and I will continue to remember him as a FANTASTIC person. RIP Mr. Jorda.
