Scott Straehle

Scott Thomas Straehle, 47, of Westminster, MD passed away on October 20, 2025, at BridgingLife-Dove House due to injuries from a 2022 automobile accident. Born on October 17, 1978, in Hagerstown, MD, Scott is the son of William Thomas Straehle, Jr. and Karen (Deakins) Straehle. Scott was predeceased by grandparents, James and Della Deakins and William and Elizabeth Straehle. Scott was a graduate of Francis Scott Key High School and of the University of Delaware where he earned his Bachelor of Science in Management and Marketing. He enjoyed participating in many sports, especially swimming, lacrosse and soccer, having been on various teams in his younger years. Scott loved being outdoors, whether it was the beach or the mountains. He loved spending time fishing, hiking and skiing. Becoming a father was the greatest joy in his life. Besides his parents, Scott is survived by his children, Bodhi, Austin, and Judah; sister, Megan Grabowski and husband, Greg; nephews, Andrew and James; his girlfriend Deidre Pilcher; mother of his children Erin Smith; aunts and uncles, Elizabeth Trainer and husband, Rob, Dean Deakins and wife, Cynthia, and Linda Deakins; cousins, Nicholas, Elizabeth, Kevin, and Sean; and many other family members and friends. A celebration of Scott's life will be held on November 9, 2025, at 1 pm, at First Presbyterian Church of Westminster, 65 Washington Rd, Westminster, MD, with Pastor Matthew Glasgow officiating. The family will welcome friends before the service at 12 noon. There will be a reception in Fellowship Hall following the service. Interment will be private.
