Stephen Maurice Peregoy

Stephen Maurice Peregoy, 70, of Westminster, passed away Wednesday, April 9, 2025, at BridgingLife Dove House. Born December 3, 1954, in Baltimore, he was the son of the late Chester Maurice and Jacquelyn (Rosevear) Peregoy. He was the loving husband of the late Diane W. Peregoy, his wife of 35 years. Stephen believed that giving back to the community was a profound privilege. He dedicated countless hours volunteering with local charities and organizations, touching the lives of many. He served on the boards of several esteemed organizations, including BridgingLife Hospice. Stephen was known for his infectious personality and warm, generous heart, always the first to lend a helping hand. He approached every task with enthusiasm, determination, and a sense of purpose. In his spare time, Stephen enjoyed music, gardening, golfing, and was an avid sports fan. He was a passionate advocate for education and was an adjunct professor at Towson University. Those who knew him often remarked that he led by example, demonstrating the qualities of respect, humility, and generosity. Surviving Stephen is his cherished daughter Sarah Peregoy of Brooklyn, NY; brother Mark Peregoy and wife Gabby of Westminster; and 7 nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by his sister Deborah Stem. The family will welcome friends on Wednesday, April 16, 2025, from 6pm to 8pm and Thursday, April 17, 2025, from 12noon to 2pm at Pritts Funeral Home and Chapel, 412 Washington Road, Westminster, MD. A memorial service will be held on Thursday at 2pm. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the BridgingLife Hospice, 292 Stoner Ave, Westminster, MD 21157 and/or the American Lung Association, P.O. Box 756, Osceola, WI 54020.
