Thelma Hammond Obituary
Thelma B. "Snook" Hammond, 93, of Carroll Lutheran Village in Westminster, died Wednesday, July 17, 2013.
Born Dec., 24, 1919, in Union Bridge, she was the daughter of the late George and Annie Hill Millberry, She was the wife of the late Murton P. Hammond Sr.
She was a homemaker and enjoyed soap operas and catalogs. She was a member of the Union Street United Methodist Church.
Surviving are sons Gerald Millberry and Phillip Hammond, both of Westminster, J. Pernell Hammond, of New Windsor and Gilbert Hammond, of Florida; daughters Patricia Brightful, of Baltimore, Sharon Jones, Phyllis Hammond and Therl Hammond, all of Westminster; 14 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by sons R. Bernard Millberry, and Larry and Lavern Millberry; a step-son Murton Hammond Jr.; and a great-granddaughter, Alexis Lee Jones.
She was the last of 20 siblings.
The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until the time of service, noon Saturday at Pritts Funeral Home and Chapel, 412 Washington Road, Westminster, with her pastor, the Rev. Howard Hinson officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Joy Cemetery in New Windsor.
Memorial contributions may be sent to Carroll Lutheran Village, 300 St. Luke Circle, Westminster, MD 21157; or Carroll Hospice's Dove House, 292 Stoner Ave., Westminster, MD 21157.
