William Edward Wright, 83, of Hampstead, passed away on September 19, 2021 at the Dove House in Westminster, MD. Born January 9, 1938, he was the son of the late Claude and Helen (Enfield) Wright. He was the loving husband to the late, Joan Ellen Wright. Bill Wright was a graduate of Hereford High School, a member of Grace United Methodist Church and an Army Veteran. A true family man, Bill loved supporting his grandkids and great-grandchildren by attending their sports games. He loved traveling with his wife and brother and sister-in-law, Ken and Donna. He was a very active member of the Hampstead American Legion Post 200. He was a Corvette Collector and enjoyed attending car shows. After retirement, he was proud to help his son, Mark, at Matthews Tire. Surviving are his children, Mark (Kim) Wright of Manchester MD, and Patty(Randy) Hill of Finksburg MD, grandchildren; Jamie (Alex) Eskins, Lauren Hill, Alexis Wright, Tyler Wright, Eric Hill, and step grandchildren, CJ (JoAnna) Harris, and Rachel Harris; two great-grandchildren, Rylee Eskins and Colt Eskins, and two step great-grandchildren. Also surviving him, are siblings; Ken(Donna) Wright of Hampstead, MD, and Pam Newton of Hanover, PA; along with several nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife, Joan, Bill is also predeceased by brother, Robert Wright. Visitations will be held on Wednesday September 22, 2021 from 2pm-5pm and 7pm-9pm and Thursday September 23, 2021 from 10am-12pm at Eline Funeral Home, Hampstead, MD. A funeral service will be held on September 23,2021 at 12pm at the Eline Funeral Home, 934 S. Main St. Hampstead MD with Pastor Rudolph officiating. Interment will be at Grace United Methodist Church in Upperco, MD. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Hampstead American Legion Post 200.
