William G. Yingling

William G. Yingling, 96, of Sykesville, passed away on Tuesday, September 2, 2025 at BridgingLife Dove House, surrounded by loving family. Born March 30,1929 in Baltimore he was the son of the late Wilbur Francis and Margaret (Graybill) Yingling. He was the devoted husband of the late Marguerite Green Yingling, his loving wife whom he missed dearly since her passing in 2006. William was a proud veteran of the United States Navy, and lived a life filled with diverse experiences and a strong work ethic. He worked in various capacities and took significant pride in his employment at Marine Hydraulics, where he excelled in troubleshooting, fabrication, design, and maintenance. He also worked as a lab technician at Congoleum Corp., attendant at Shell Station, and salesman at Firestone. Beyond his professional life, William found immense joy in farming, eagerly anticipating the harvest and the satisfaction of mowing fields. He even raised Angus cattle for a time. He looked forward to his weekly Tuesday morning breakfast club at Chik-Fil-A, where he enjoyed the company of great friends. Above all, he was a devoted family man and a generous friend, always willing to lend a hand to those in need and contributing to numerous organizations. His selfless nature left a positive impact on many. Surviving him are children Sally Thomas, Nancy Bainbridge, and William "Bill" Yingling; grandchildren Tammy Thomas, William Thomas, Andrea Rose, Jason Bainbridge and granddaughter-in-law Kristina Bainbridge; many loving great-grandchildren; and brother Clifford Yingling. In addition to his wife and parents he was predeceased by grandson Joshua Bainbridge; and sons-in-law George Bainbridge and Harold Thomas, Jr. The family will welcome friends on Monday, September 8, 2025, from 5 to 7pm at Pritts Funeral Home & Chapel, 412 Washington Rd., Westminster. Funeral services will be Tuesday, September 9th at 11 am at the funeral home. Interment with military honors will be held in Evergreen Memorial Gardens, Finksburg.
