Ashley Garrett Obituary

Ashley M. Garrett, 32, passed away Tuesday, May 17, 2016, in Casey County.

Born Nov. 5, 1983, in Danville, she is the daughter of Beulah Lay Garrett and the late Gerald Carl Garrett. She was a substitute for the Casey County Board of Education and a full-time student at Casey County Community and Education Center, where she was an SGA representative. She was a former dispatcher for Casey and Russell 911 and a former firefighter for Clementsville Fire Department.

Ashley was a former deputy jailer at the Casey jail.

Survivors include her mother, Beulah Garrett of Liberty; two sisters, Carla (Greg) Hogue of Liberty and Celesta (Scott) Waddle of Lexington; nieces and nephews, Mac (Jess) Hogue, B.J. Hogue, Josh Blair, Jaylan Waddle, Chase Hogue, Lindsey Hogue and Krystina Hogue; a great nephew, Walker Hogue; and three special friends, Jennifer Overstreet, Judy Vance and little girl, Chatty the dog.

In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her niece, Myranda Hogue.

The funeral was Friday, May 20, at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home with Mack Lay officiating. Burial followed in Caney Fork Cemetery.

Expressions of sympathy can be made to the Caney Fork Cemetery Fund or the Casey County Community and Education Center.

Funeral arrangements were entrusted to McKinney-Brown Funeral Home with a guestbook available at www.mckinneybrown.com.
