John David Richardson

1944 - 2022

Mr. John David Richardson, 78, of Corning passed away October 12, 2022 at home. Mr. Richardson was born August 15, 1944 in Clarendon, AR. He was retired from Corning School District where he served in many roles including Corning High School Principal and Assistant Superintendent. Mr. Richardson earned many degrees prior to his career. He attended ASU where he obtained his Bachelor of Science in Education, University of Arkansas where he obtained his Master's in Physics, Mathematics, and Chemistry and he received his Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from UCA. He enjoyed collecting coins, tinkering and fixing things, science projects, and landscaping. He loved spending time with his family and friends. He was a member of St. Joseph The Worker Catholic Church in Corning. On June 4, 1966, he married Mary Ellen Fahy who survives. They recently celebrated their 56th wedding anniversary. Other survivors include his children Dr. Richie Richardson of Collierville, TN and Dr. Christie (Chris) Richardson Getman of Germantown, TN, and grandchildren Will and Gage Getman. He was preceded in death by his parents Sterling O. and Dorothy (Crabtree) Richardson and sister Dottie Ann Richardson Bateman. The family will conduct a memorial service at a later date.
