Harold Fuchs, 90
Harold Emil Fuchs
November 24, 1934 - October 2, 2025
Harold passed away at home in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho on October 2nd with his family by his side. Harold was the second child of Emil and Mabel Fuchs born in Burt, North Dakota. Harold grew up working hard with his 5 siblings on the family farm. When he wasn't working hard, he was playing hard. He enjoyed going to Bible study, roller skating, riding horses, chasing pigs on the farm, racing cars and cruising down main street. Harold met Mavis while living in Mott, North Dakota in 1953 and they were married in September of 1955.
Harold and Mavis began their new life together in New England, North Dakota and celebrated the birth of their 4 children. In 1969 they relocated to Coeur d'Alene, Idaho in search of better work opportunities. Harold transitioned from barbering to mill work. He spent his evenings and weekends with his family, woodworking, doing yard work and tending his flowers and garden. Harold also dedicated 40 years to the local Fraternal Order of Eagles, spending 3 years as the local chapter president and the state president in 1996. Another thing he was dedicated to was giving blood. Over his lifetime of giving, Harold donated over 40 gallons of blood.
For a man always working and on the move, he decided it was time to retire but retirement quickly got boring, and he began working at Goodwill to fill his time. He finally retired for the final time and just enjoyed time with family and friends.
Harold was a devoted husband, loving father and brother, doting grandfather/great grandfather, and dedicated friend. His life was a testament to love, warmth, encouragement, faith and service. Although Harold is no longer with us he will always live in the hearts of those that love him.
Harold is predeceased by his wife Mavis, son Brian, his parents, sister Elenora who passed as an infant, brother Vernon, sisters Darlene, and Margie. He is survived by his sister, Agnes (Ralph) Meidinger, and brother, Bernard (Lois) Fuchs, children Gary, Roberta Roberts, and Jeffrey. He is also survived by his grandchildren: Jeremy Roberts, Claudia (Steven) Sharp, and Christina Roberts; his great grandchildren: Clarajean Heinemeyer and Hailee Sharp.
Our family sends special thanks to the staff of Hospice of North Idaho. The honor, dedication, and respect they show their patients is unmatched.
Memorial service will be held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, October 18, 2025, at Trinity Lutheran Church, 812 N. Fifth St., Coeur d'Alene, Idaho. Arrangements are provided by Yates Funeral Home.
