Janet MacDonald Obituary

Janet Ann MacDonald, 84, of Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, passed away peacefully on September 9, 2025, at the Schneidmiller Hospice House.



Born in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho in 1941, to Ron and Betty MacDonald, Janet attended St. Thomas Elementary, IHM Academy, and earned a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from the University of Idaho (Alpha Chai Omega Sorority).



She loved her work as an elementary school teacher in Fairfield, CA, specializing in reading. She later returned to Coeur d'Alene and continued her teaching career as a tutor and substitute teacher.



Janet had a lifelong connection to St Thomas, and more recently, St Pius Catholic Church. She was a member of the Red Hat Society, enjoyed attending musicals, and cherished time with her family and close friends.



She is survived by her sister, Anne Miller of Gig Harbor, WA, niece, Jaime Erdmann (Nathan) of Gig Harbor, WA, nephew, Ryan Miller of Seattle, WA, grandnephews: Caeden and Drew, and grandnieces: Chloe and Hazel.



Janet will be remembered for her kind heart, quick wit, deep faith, and love for her family. Her laughter and unwavering optimism were gifts to everyone who knew her.
