Robert Giffing Obituary

Robert Giffing, 91

Robert (Bob) Dean Giffing of Hayden Idaho passed away peacefully on April 10, 2023 at Hospice of North Idaho. Born March 20, 1932 in Sprague Washington to Fred and Grace (Howe) Giffing. When Bob was 10 the family moved to four Lakes Washington. Bob graduated from Cheney High School in 1951. After high school Bob joined the Naval Reserves and started his career at Spokane Fur Company as a delivery driver.

In 1956 Bob and JoAnn Holladay were married and made their home in Spokane. In December of 1960 Their son Dean was born. In 1962 Bob bought the Spokane Fur Company with partner Art Logsdon. After Art retired Ken Doyle came in as partner. After 40 years in the fur business Bob retired in 1992. He and JoAnn retired to their home on Hayden Lake. Bob enjoyed summers on the lake, hunting and fishing. He always looked forward to annual Alaska salmon fishing trips with old family friends. Traveling with JoAnn to Europe, Australia. New Zealand and Caribbean.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents, brother Charlie, sister Bernice. Survived by wife JoAnn of 66 years, son Dean and wife Beth of Post Falls. Grandsons Tyler and Bryce both of Liberty Lake and their families.

English Funeral Chapel has been entrusted with his final arrangements.

sorry to see of Bob's passing. Have thought of you two many times over the years after you moved from Spokane and left Country Homes church. wish I had taken more initiative and looked up your mail address. Enjoyed the visits at church.
May God's presence and strength be with you and your family in this time of sorrow as you move ahead and look back at the joys of the past.
In Jesus' name we ask for this prayer for your peace and comfort.
