James William Lawson

1939 - 2025

James William Lawson, 86 years, of Colora, MD, passed away Tuesday, November 25, 2025 at home. Born February 7, 1939 in Boissevaine, VA, he was the son of the late James Thomas and Marjorie Leona Carter Lawson.

Mr. Lawson was a veteran of the U.S. Marines having served from 1959 until 1963. He was a member of the Harvest Pentecostal Church of North East, MD, and was a retired assembly line worker from the former Chrysler Corporation of Newark, DE.

Mr. Lawson is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Edith Elaine Hill Lawson; sons, James Thomas Lawson and Jason David Lawson both of Port Deposit, MD; daughter, Janet Elaine Lawson Kipp of Port Deposit, MD; and six grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Lawson was preceded in death by his brothers, Jerry Thomas Lawson and Johnny Joe Lawson.

Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday, December 6, 2025, 12 Noon, at the Lee A. Patterson & Son Funeral Home, P.A., of Perryville, MD. Visitation for family and friends will be held Saturday, December 6, 2025, 11 AM until 12 Noon, at the funeral home prior to the funeral service. Pastor Christian Brockmeyer of the Harvest Pentecostal Church of North East, MD, will officiate. Interment will be in Hopewell Cemetery, Colora, MD.
