Katelyn Kerns Obituary

Katelyn Marie Eaton Kerns, 28 years, of Perryville, MD, passed away Friday, November 10, 2017 at home. Born March 17, 1989 in Havre de Grace, MD, she was the daughter of Anthony and Amy Eaton Bustillos.
Katie was a Registered Nurse, a very kind, caring person who loved everyone and was loved by everyone she encountered. She has gone home to be with the Lord after a long struggle. She had stated "recovery is not pass or fail, it's life or death". Katie lost that battle with addiction, will be missed by many, and would pray that her friends in recovery would battle on.
Katie is survived by children who were the light of her life, Janessa Kerns age 10 and Myles Kerns age 5; parents, Anthony and Amy Eaton Bustillos; brothers, James Siebecker, Benjamin Kelly ll, and Andrew Kelly; sisters, Brittany Krauss and Amber Anderson; grandparents, Dorothy Crabbe Eaton and Carl Eaton, Jr.; father, David Walter, and wife; numerous aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces, cousins, and especially her cousin and best friend, Kerri Kerns.
In lieu of flowers, please consider making a memorial contribution to Ashley Addiction Treatment, 800 Tydings Lane, Havre de Grace, MD 21078 and/or Caron Treatment Centers, 243 North Galena Road, Wernersville, PA 19565.
Funeral services are scheduled for Thursday, November16, 2017, 1 PM, at the Lee A. Patterson & Son Funeral Home, P.A., Perryville, MD. Visitation for family and friends will be held Wednesday, November 15, 2017, 6 PM until 8 PM, at the funeral home. Interment will be in Asbury Cemetery, Port Deposit, MD.

I am so sorry for your loss, I cannot imagine how painful this must be. Katelyn and I went to school together, she is and always will be missed.
Times like this make you question your faith, but please know that God has a plan. Sending my prayers.

I am so sorry for your loss. Losing a child is a pain I could never imagine. So unbelievable that I don't think anyone can ever accept it without believing God has a plan. I am so glad you have such powerful faith and am hoping you can begin to heal your hearts soon. Please know Kate will live on in her children and your memories.
