Lee Travers Obituary

Lee Clayton Travers, Jr., 67, of Perryville, MD, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, July 5, 2025.

Born on September 18, 1957, in Aberdeen, MD, Lee was a proud graduate of Aberdeen High School, Class of 1975. He honorably served his country in the United States Army from 1982 to 1991, with assignments including Fort Sill, OK (4/4th HC), Fort Hood, TX (1st CAV), and active duty in Operation Desert Shield and Desert Storm from August 1990 to April 1991.

Lee worked as a dedicated truck driver before retiring, having been employed by Grace Trucking Company of Whitemarsh, MD; Lieske Hauling of Aberdeen, MD; Choate's Trucking of Forest Hill, MD; and Grace Singleton Trucking of Forest Hill, MD.

He was a proud member of both the Bernard L. Tobin American Legion Post No. 128 and the Moose Lodge No. 1450, both of Aberdeen, MD. Lee enjoyed baseball, watching the Orioles, horse racing, race cars, playing video games, and reminiscing with family about the good old days.

Lee is survived by his sons, Lee Clayton Travers III (Michelle) and their children, MacKenzie Travers Borello (Jay), Lee Clayton Travers IV, and Erin Fallon Daniels (Adam), along with great-grandchildren Katherine and Jeannette, all of Florida; Kenneth Wayne Travers of Perryville, MD, and his son, Marley Travers; and Alexis Jade Travers of Bel Air, MD, (the daughter of his late son, Brian Andrew Travers). He is also survived by his brother, Wesley Willis Travers (Carole Lieske); sisters, Connie Lynnette Travers-Cage of North East, MD, and Carol Jeanne Hensley of Port Deposit, MD; as well as many cousins, friends, nine nieces and nephews, and his former wife, Carrie Lynne Lieske.

He was preceded in death by his son, Brian Andrew Travers; brother, Gordon Wayne Travers; brother-in-law, John Cage; parents, Lee Clayton Travers Sr. and Thelma Ann Cannon Travers; paternal grandparents, Harold Vance Travers and Sara Elizabeth Travers; and maternal grandparents, Willis Sharp Cannon and Erma Cannon.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, July 16, 2025, from 6 PM until 8 PM at Lee A. Patterson & Son Funeral Home, P.A., in Perryville, MD. Funeral services will take place at 12 Noon on Thursday, July 17, 2025, at the same location, with interment to follow at Bakers Cemetery in Aberdeen, MD. Pastor Dr. Harold Phillips of Pleasant View Baptist Church of Port Deposit, MD, will officiate.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association or the American Cancer Society in care of Lee A. Patterson & Son Funeral Home, P.A., P.O. Box 766, Perryville, MD 21903-0766.

Pallbearers are Kenneth Travers, Lee C. Travers, III, Daniel Burnette, Chuckie Wade, Clayton Cage, and Edward Wade. Honorary pallbearers are Jeffrey Burnette, Jake Wade, Lee C. Travers, IV, and Brian Cole.
