Denny Powers Obituary

VINTON: Denny Powers, 71 died Saturday, April 28, 2018 at his home following a sudden illness. Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 AM, Tuesday, May 1, 2018 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Vinton with Rev. Stephen K. Preus officiating. Interment will be in Maplewood Cemetery, Vinton. Visitation will be from 4 – 7 PM, Monday at Phillips Family Center, 605 Second Avenue, Vinton. A Memorial Fund has been established. Condolences may be left at: www.phillipsfuneralhomes.com.
Dennis W. Powers was born February 23, 1947. He was united in marriage to Pat Cox on June 17, 1967 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Vinton. Denny worked for PMX, DC Taylor and many good years at Hawkbilt. He was an avid fisherman and entered many Bass Fishing Tournaments. Denny enjoyed spending time with his family and was especially proud of every one of his grandchildren.
Denny is survived by his wife, Pat; his daughter, Michele (Pete) Sauer; his son, Shane (Carrie) Powers all of Vinton; his grandchildren, Sam (Paula) Sauer of Everett, Washington, Beth (John) Martin of Verona, Wisconsin and Weston and Eli Powers of Vinton; his brother, Jay (Angie) Wood of Hinkley, Ohio; his step-sisters, Lavonne Paulson, Wanita Karnopp and Sharon Allsup and his step-brothers, Ed and Loren Wood.
He was preceded in death by his father, William Powers; his mother, Camillo ""Cam"" (Stepp) Wood; his step-father, Joe Wood Sr., his step-brother, Joe Wood Jr. and his father-in-law, Joe Cox.
