Connie Davis Obituary

Connie L. Davis January 16, 1932 October 26, 2017 Connie L. Davis, 85, of Avis, went to be with her Lord and Savior on October 26, 2017. She was surrounded with love, support, and comfort by her family who were so dear and precious to her. Connie was blessed with a full life that she lived with grace and dignity in which her priorities were her love for the Lord and her family. Connie was born on January 16, 1932, in Lock Haven, the daughter of the late Albert C. and Geneva M. (Clark) Clark. She graduated from the former Lock Haven State Teacher's College with a degree in Elementary Education. Connie joyously married Arthur L. "Roy" Davis on June 30,1956 and they spent forty-six loving years of marriage together until his passing on February 18, 2003. Connie's many accomplishments began with her special devotion and dedication to teaching in which she touched as many lives as touched hers. Her teaching career began in several school districts in the suburban Philadelphia area. Her teaching career culminated in the Jersey Shore Area School District where she was instrumental to the gifted program as the first teacher. After retiring from teaching, her brothers, she and her husband Roy built Clark's Market which she and Roy ran as Mountain View Market in later years. She and Roy spent many tireless years developing Mountain View Estates. The community has been gratefully blessed with its tenancy for more than forty years. Because of her love for the Lord she was devoted to her church families which included Lycoming Christian Church, The Church of God, and Crossroads Community Church. She was active in many areas including children's ministry, life groups, and participating in mission trips. Connie had various hobbies and interests, most important was the time spent with her husband and family. She enjoyed traveling and seeing most of the country. She had a true talent for art which was expressed through her beautiful paintings and a gift for interior design. Connie's family includes children, Lori C. Marshall (Jeffrey) of Avis, Lisa R. Davis of Avis, and Steven C. Davis (Marcia) of McElhattan. Grandchildren include Shaun R. Cummings (Ashley), Patricia VanCampen (Joshua), Ashley N. Sparrow (Robert), Corey M. Davis, Corey J. Finn (Brittany), and Brianna M. Marshall (fiancee Tyler Waltz). Great-grand-children include Dakota Cummings, Haiden Cummings, Connor Ohl, Bentley Cummings, Brody Sparrow, Ryland Sparrow, and Easton Sparrow. Brother Gary G. Clark of Castanea and sisters-in-law Doris and June Clark. She was preceded in death by her husband, mother, father, and a brother Richard L. Clark. Connie's Life Tribute celebration will be held at noon on Wednesday, November 1, 2017, at the Rearick-Carpenter Funeral Home, 1002 Allegheny St., Jersey Shore, PA with Pastor John Phillips officiating. Friends and relatives may call from 10 a.m. until noon on Wednesday, at the funeral home. Interment will be private with the family at Jersey Shore Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, Connie's family suggests contributions be made to the local chapter of the Alzheimer's Association, 270 Walker Dr., Suite 15 State College, PA 16801.
