Craig Brown Obituary

Craig Brown

November 22, 1959 - July 7, 2025

Spruce Creek, Pennsylvania - Craig R. Brown, 65, of Spruce Creek passed away July 7, 2025. He was born November 22, 1959 in Abington, PA, the son of Russell and Reba Ruth (Sharpless) Brown.

He is survived by son Jesse Brown, daughter Tally Brown, sister Lori Frendak, and brother Ken Brown.

Craig lived his youth in Hatboro-Horsham where he learned to dive, hunt, and build. During high school, he earned the title of Pennsylvania State Diving Champion and also was a Junior Olympic Diving Champion. He earned his undergraduate degree at Penn State University where he was a three time most valuable diver before graduating in 1986. He then went on to coach at Penn State where he fostered a tight community of many elite divers, producing more than 20 NCAA qualifying divers. He was named Big Ten Diving Coach of the Year in both 1994 and 1999.

In retirement, Craig engaged in his longstanding hobbies of hunting and building. He started a local aqua scaping business where he designed and constructed ponds for neighbors and businesses around Central Pennsylvania. He will be remembered for his creativity, ingenuity, and humor. He leaves behind a huge community of family, neighbors, and athletes and will be missed dearly.

Interment took place in Franklinville Cemetery following a small ceremony peacefully attended by surviving family.
