Gatesburg, Pennsylvania - David E. Snyder, 74, of Gatesburg, passed away on May 3, 2023 at Centre Care after a long battle with Alzheimer's Disease. He was born on May 2, 1949, at the Philipsburg Hospital to William C. and Margaret (Hosband) Snyder.
On July 17, 1976 he married Diane Barto, who survives, at the Gatesburg Lutheran Church. In addition to his wife he is survived by a daughter, Angie Auman (Tim) and a granddaughter, Sierra Auman; brothers William (Lewella) and James (Deb); sister Linda Kuhn (Earl); and his best friend and fishing buddy Larry Gohn. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Denise Day and brother-in-law Ralph Day; and brother Robert.
Dave was a 1967 graduate of Tyrone Area High School. He worked at Penn State in Fleet Operations, retiring in 2008 after 35 years of service. He attended Ross Church and was a member of Halfmoon Grange. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and working on cars. He spent 40 years fishing the St. Lawrence River with Diane and Larry. He loved cars and going to car shows with his 1939 International Truck which he built himself.
Visitation will take place at the Bruce E. Cox Funeral Home, Warriors Mark, on Sunday, May 7, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. A funeral service will be held on Monday, May 8, at 11 a.m. at Ross Church, Marengo, with Pastor Samuel Reese officiating. Interment to follow in Ross Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Ross Cemetery Association, 2115 W. Gatesburg Rd., Warriors Mark, PA 16877.
The family would like to give a huge thank you to the doctors, nurses and aides at Centre Care of their loving care of Dave.
