Elizabeth Halleck

Elizabeth Halleck September 26, 1918 April 26, 2014 Elizabeth Halleck, 95, of State College, died Saturday, April 26, 2014, at the Atrium at the Village at Penn State. Born September 26, 1918, in Carson City, Mich., she was the daughter of the late Lloyd and Pearl Chambers Blancher. On August 12, 1939, she married Marion C. Halleck, who preceded her in death on February 19, 2009. She is survived by one son, Phillip M. Halleck and his wife, Margaret "Peg", of Port Matilda; and one brother, Bruce Blancher and his wife, Alice, of Duluth, Minn. Along with her husband she was preceded in death by a son, Paul Allen Halleck on November 2009; a sister, Theodosia Grinnell on October 2, 2007; and a brother, Hollis Blancher on December 14, 2010. She attended Manchester State Teachers College in Indiana where she studied library science and met her husband. She was a member of the Manchester Chime Society. Elizabeth was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Phoenix, Ariz. She also was an active member of the League of Women Voters. Services will be private at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in the First United Methodist Church Memorial Garden. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to First United Methodist Church of Phoenix, 5510 N.
