Irene M. Meredith

Irene Mary Meredith August 21, 1937 September 19, 2016 Irene Mary Meredith, 79, of State College, passed away Monday, September 19, 2016, at Mount Nittany Medical Center, State College. Born August 21, 1937, in Reading, she was the daughter of the late Benjamin and Dorothy Reilly Greenawald. She is survived by two children, Marie M. Buterbaugh and her husband, Bret, of State College and Donna Aulenbach, of Reading; seven grandchildren, Jeffrey, Matthew and Rachel Buterbaugh, Eric and Chad Kissinger, Allen and Gwyn Snyder; three great-grandchildren, Ashley and Marissa Snyder and Ty Kissinger. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Linda Kissinger; son, Thomas Aulenbach; and a brother, Robert Pauley. Irene was the last of her generation. Irene was a wonderful mother of four, and her grandchildren were her greatest joy. She was employed as a hostess for many years at the West Reading Diner, and went on to work and retire from Wal-Mart in State College. She enjoyed traveling, casinos, and theater. She was of the Lutheran faith. Burial will be in the Berks County Memorial Gardens on Saturday, October 8, 2016, at 2:00 p.m. A Celebration of Irene's Life will immediately follow.
