Jean Carol Barton June 27, 1941 February 6, 2018 Jean Carol Barton, 76, of Bellefonte, passed away peacefully at Centre Crest Nursing Home on Tuesday, February 6, 2018, after a long battle with Alzheimer's Disease. Jean was born on June 27, 1941, in Bellefonte, the daughter of the late Donald and Vera Love. She was a graduate of Bellefonte Area High School, class of 1959. She attended the State College School of Cosmetology and worked as a beautician from 1960 until her retirement in 2008. She was a previous member of the Episcopal Church of Bellefonte and had also attended State College Christian Missionary Alliance Church. Jean enjoyed cooking, baking, music, going to the movies, spending time with her family and friends, and had an overwhelming love for her cats. Jean is survived by her high school sweetheart and loving spouse of 55 years, Gary L. Barton; her son, Gary M Barton and wife, Mary of Philipsburg; one granddaughter, Heather Love Barton; three-step grandchildren, Tyler Smith, Chandler and Kaczey McCloskey; one brother, Michael A. Love and his wife, Lois, of State College; nephew, Troy Love; and niece, Chrissie Love Fitzgerald. Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her daughter, Heather Jean Barton. Funeral services and burial will be private at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are under the direction of Wetzler Funeral Service, Inc. in Bellefonte.
