Very sad to hear about Uncle John's passing. I have great memories of the times we spent as kids at his house. He was always a man you could look up to.He will be missed but always remembered in my heart.

I am so sorry to hear of uncle Johns passing. I have many memories of coming to state college with my parents and scott and holly to visit. So many stories to remember. Uncle john was to me a John Wayne, strong and hard working.

Phyllis, Carolyn, Kevin, Keith and Kent.........
My sincere sympathy to each of you on your sad loss. My earliest memory of Johnny was at Methodist Youth Fellowship meetings. Even back then (yes, more than 56 years ago) he was always so friendly and helpful to everyone and had a handsome smile that captivated the people he met. How fortunate you are to have had him as husband and father.
With fond memories,
Page

I worked for John and Bill Kocher at K-B Offset in 1985. At the time of my hire I lived in Jersey Shore and commuted back and forth. When we found a house in Tusseyville and needed to move we had no real means of finances to pay a moving company nor did we have a truck to move ourself. I had only worked at K-B for a few months but when I approached John for an advance in pay to deal with our situation he pulled out his wallet, handed me $200 cash, gave me the keys to his pickup truck, which I used to make two trips a day for an entire week and told me to repay him whenever I was comfortably able to do so. That was class, integrity and left an impression I will never forget.
To John's family my prayers are for God's comfort to you during this time of loss and that the legacy of John's commitment to family continues for countless generations. The world so desperately needs more John Barrs and Bill Kochers. The Centre Region is better for the time they gave us.

Phyllis -- You knew John as a loving husband.
Carolyn, Kevin, Keith, and Kent -- You knew John as your loving father.
I knew John as a businessman, friend, and fishing buddy. No one could wish for a more honest and dependable businessman, a truer friend, or a better fishing buddy.
I miss him.

John Barr Family,
Sincere condolences to the family. Uncle John will be missed by all. He will be remembered as a very hard worker, loving husband, father, and grandfather, and a good samaritan. He always had time for anyone in need.
