Joseph Dzvonyicsak Obituary

Joseph J. Dzvonyicsak, Sr., 89, of State College, PA, passed away peacefully on November 8, 2025. Born on April 19, 1936, in Erie, Pennsylvania, Joe came to State College as a young man to attend Penn State University-beginning a lifelong connection to the community he would later serve and call home.

On July 13, 1956, Joe married the love of his life, Joan (Watson), in Tucumcari, New Mexico. Together they shared a devoted marriage and built a family grounded in faith, love, and hard work. Joe is survived by their three children: Joseph Dzvonyicsak, Jr.; Caprina Smith (Rick); and Brian Dzvonyicsak; as well as his beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

In 1977, Joe founded Dee Construction, a company he built with dedication, integrity, and the uncompromising work ethic that defined his life. By the mid-1980s, he expanded the business into specialized concrete construction, earning a respected reputation throughout the region. To many, he was known simply as "Joe Dee"-a man whose word could always be trusted and whose faith guided every chapter of his journey.

Joe was a committed member of his community, serving as a Boy Scout leader and participating in the Lions Club. He will be remembered for his strength, humility, and the quiet generosity he extended to others.

A funeral service will be held on January 31, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at Grace Lutheran Church in State College.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Grace Lutheran Church or to a church of one's choice.
