Williamsport, Pennsylvania - Marian L. Owen, 90, of Williamsport, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 30, 2023 at the Williamsport Home.
Born October 16, 1932 in Cleveland, OH, she was a daughter to the late Fred Speck and the former Minnie Zinck. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, D. James Owen Sr. on May 23, 2015. They were united in marriage on November 2, 1952. A grandson also precedes her.
Marian was a 1950 graduate of Jersey Shore High School, and graduated in 1952 from Lycoming College with an R.N. Degree. For 69 years, Marian and her husband were the owners of Pine Creek Acres Farm.
She is survived by four sons, Dallas L. (Ana Maria) Owen of Glasgow, KY, Daniel J. (Susan) Owen of Draper, Utah, Dennis R. (Debbie) Owen of Gretna, Neb., and Darryl G. (Anne) Owen of Port Matilda; daughter, Diane L. (Martin) Smith of Aaronsburg, PA; 8 grandchildren; and 5 great-grandchildren.
Memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, October 14, 2023 at Garman Lutheran Church, 1761 Sulphur Run Road, Jersey Shore. A visitation will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday until the time of service at church. The Rev. Gary Shumway will officiate.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to a local animal shelter of your choice.
Arrangements are entrusted to Frederick B. Welker Funeral Home, Jersey Shore.

Sending love and deepest sympathy to the Owen family. Our families were always connected, but the friendship grew deeper when Carol and Stan moved in as neighbors. It was a pleasure getting to know your parents. I still laugh when I think of your dad saying" hey, look mom, she does her hair with an egg beater" They were good, hard working , kind people. May you have many fond memories of them. I'm sure they are all up in heaven enjoying a big piece of pie and sharing more good times.
