Marla Dyke Obituary

Marla "Sue" Dyke
April 26, 1968 - January 16, 2023
Howard , Pennsylvania - Marla "Sue" Neff Dyke, wife of Gregory Dyke of Howard, passed away January 16, 2023, after an extended illness. She was 54. Born April 26, 1968, in Lock Haven, Sue was a daughter of the late W. Robert Neff and Beulah "Quiggle" Neff who survives in Howard.
Sue was a 1986 graduate of Bald Eagle Area High School and went on to attend the Empire Beauty School in State College. She had been employed at Looks Hair Design in State College, but in 1995 she opened her own salon in Howard and operated it until she closed it due to her illness. Sue enjoyed working with her clients and made many friends. She was a member of the Howard United Methodist Church and enjoyed home decorating, antiques and attending Grange Fair. She didn't miss one fair in her 54 years. However, Sue's biggest joy was the love of her family, especially Claire and Reid, her grandbabies.
In addition to her husband of 30 years, Greg, and her mother, Sue is survived by two daughters Kaiden Aungst (Darren) of Lewistown and Makennah Cleaver (Nate) of Howard; two grandchildren, Claire Kristina Sue Cleaver and Reid Gregory Aungst; two sisters, Kimberly Nielsen (Robert) of State College and Toni Dagen (Roger) of Daytona, FL and one brother, Steven R. Neff (Brenda) of Millheim. Also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews.
A visitation for family and friends will be held Thursday, January 19, 2023, from 2:00 - 4:00 pm and 6:00 – 8:00 pm at the J.K. Yearick Center, 341 Walnut Street, Howard, PA 16841. Sue will be laid to rest during a private graveside service in Schenk's Cemetery in rural Howard. Memorial contributions in memory of Sue may be given to the Bob Perks Cancer Assistance Fund, PO Box 313, State College Pa 16804 or to the Howard Fire Company, PO Box 276, Howard, PA 16841. To the Dykes,
My heart is broken but I know she is right here with me! The laughs we had at the shop will never be forgotten! When I met Sue she said "I can show you how to do your hair and you never need a curling iron again" and she did!! We always talked about "our girls". She loved her family! She will be truly missed! Love you guys! Prayers for strength and remember she is right there in your

I´m very sad to hear this news today. Our condolences to the Dyke family. Marla Sue was a very special lady. She was a great people person and hair stylist. We lost touch after moving away from the area. God bless you at this difficult time. You´re in our thoughts and prayers.
