My husband and I met Parmita at Centre Crest Nursing Home. She was our mother's roommate for a short time. She was always pleasant and kept us up to date on how our mother was doing. She and I would always share stories about our cats. May she rest in peace and our condolences to her family.

It was an honor to have known Dr.Chowla. A scholar and professor of mathematics, she was also interested in the Arts. Dr.Chowla read widely, and I remember her many insightful comments on Indian writers and contemporary literature -- all framed in her customary wit and good humor. May she rest in peace.
